The Job: Spice Emporium Waiter

The Spice Emporium Your senses will come to life as soon as you walk into The Spice Emporium. Be captivated by the open kitchen’s roaring woks, dancing grills, Trepan, Tandoor and steaming baskets. Experience of delicate textures, heady flavors, and tempting aromas.

Job responsibilities will include, but not limit to the following:

  • Assist Guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Have full knowledge of beverage, wine lists and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of the sequence of service, food and beverage service standards, and all other service standards
  • To report for duty 5 minutes before time, clean and tidy and wearing the correct uniform as per the standard of performance manual
  • To strive to anticipate client needs wherever possible and react to these to enhance client satisfaction
  • Comply with Municipality regulations regarding Food Hygiene procedures.
  • To be flexible in assisting around different areas of the hotel in response to business and client needs
  • To perform all tasks to a consistent standard as detailed with the department standard of performance manual, and to promote within Hotel and Brand key Standards
  • Attend daily briefing sessions and Hotel/Departmental meetings when required
  • To attend training sessions and meeting when required and to operate in line with the training or information received
  • Demonstrate a pride in workplace and a high level of commitment


To move into this position you should have

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the relevant area of a 5* Property

  • Excellent communication skills and good command of English language
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in computer
  • Smart in appearance and well groomed
  • Multiple language ability, an advantage
  • Previous point of sale system experience is required (Micros)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible& reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Have Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on Guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
